Do I need to install an agent on every laptop?+

No. UniDesk reads from your existing MDM (Jamf, Intune, Kandji), SSO (Okta, Google), and HRIS. If you don't have an MDM, we offer an optional lightweight agent — but most teams never need it.

How is this different from a CMDB or ServiceNow Asset?+

A CMDB requires a team of engineers to keep accurate. UniDesk reconciles automatically from source-of-truth systems and ships with the integrations, the workflows, and the AI built in. Setup is measured in hours, not quarters.

Does it work for software-only inventory (SaaS licenses)?+

Yes. Connect Okta, Google Workspace, or your finance tool (NetSuite, QuickBooks). We track subscriptions, seats, active usage, and renewal dates — and flag reclaim candidates 30 days before renewal.

Can ticketing reference asset records?+

Yes — that's the whole point of “unified”. When a ticket comes in, UniDesk auto-attaches the requester's assets, recent activity, and warranty status. See the ticketing side

What about SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA?+

We're SOC 2 Type II certified. Customer data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). HIPAA BAA available on Business and Enterprise plans.
